Hi Flock Volunteer, here's what you need to know. 1) Every room (except the auditorium) has a dedicated laptop with a webcam. 2) Xchat is installed, and should be sitting in the proper IRC channel for your room. You should keep an eye on it. 3) We're using Google Hangouts On The Air (the laptops are already logged in with the flockconference2013@gmail.com account. The page is bookmarked in Firefox. Just start one (and make sure the presentation screen and presenter) are visible. Start it before the speaker starts. You'll need to give it a little bit to prep, then hit "go live". 4) Once it is running, paste the link to the hangout in the IRC channel for your room. 5) There is a folder (physical) which has your pre-printed timing signs. There is also an application in your homedirectory called "countdown.py". When the speaker starts, run the script. It will open a window with a 45 minute timer. Hit spacebar to start it counting down. At 10 minutes, it will change colors to yellow (hold up the 10 minute paper sign), at 5 minutes, it will change colors to red (hold up the 5 minute paper sign), at 0, it will say STOP. (Hold up the Red STOP sign). 6) When the session is done, stop the google hangout. DO NOT LOGOUT THE flockconference2013@gmail.com google account.
